Letter to Baba:
Breaking the Silence of Infertility, Perinatal Loss & Grief

There's no getting OVER it, UNDER it or AROUND it; just THROUGH it.
And as we heal and go through the waves of moments AGAIN and AGAIN,
We pray the VOID hurts less and less,
As we fill up our days with the blessings of simple joys, love, support and HOPE.

The journey to bringing a child into this world has been very challenging.

Years of pain and stress due to endometriosis, adenomyosis and fibroids.
Many surgeries and hurtful encounters with medical staff.

On November 22, 2019, I suffered a miscarriage at 18 weeks and 5 days — the day before our wedding. We lost our baby, nicknamed Baba, and our lives forever changed.

Several unsuccessful rounds of IUI in 2021-2022.
A heartbreaking first try at IVF in 2022.
Another miscarriage on Easter weekend in 2023.
IVF in Cameroon and 2 failed embryo transfers.

Pain. Anger. Disbelief. Rivers of tears.
A lot of money spent, and NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT — except LOVE.
A fierce renewed Love of Self and
an outpour of Love over my life — our lives.

Our Story

My husband and I are grateful to all the Internet strangers and loved ones who share their stories of struggle, grief and hope — grateful to all the souls who poured into our ongoing healing journey.

Now, it’s my turn to share.

In 2026, I felt called to scream my story of loss, grief and infertility from the rooftops, in the hopes that it would resonate with kindred hearts and shatter the deafening silence around this very special & unfortunate journey that afflicts all too many people.

This is our story.

A Letter to Baba.

You’re not alone.

Here, we hold space for those of us who are grieving a journey that diverged from parenthood — for those of us navigating the grief of miscarriages, infant loss and infertility.
