Hi, my name is Kethy!

pronounced “KETH-ee”

The Yoga Story:

In 2018, inspired by a fun Madonna-themed yoga class and encouraged by my loved ones, I submitted my yoga teacher training (YTT) program application to an Astanga yoga studio, and wrote:

“As cliché as it may be, I started my relationship with yoga at the same time as another relationship was falling apart. In 2013, I walked into a hot yoga studio, joined the intro month and it's been love ever since. I was embraced by the yoga community; my time on my mat felt like home away from home.
Yoga has transformed me: I learned to be comfortable in my own skin; to be patient with myself and to listen to my body; to cherish the breathe and the struggle as I pressed onwards.”

Yoga led me to self-love, to found-family and community.
My goal is to share as much of this goodness out there!

About me:

I am a Cameroonian-Canadian teacher (she/her), with a background in Hatha and Astanga, and experience leading several styles of yoga classes — gentle, flow, power and yin — across Canada and internationally.
Yoga is Political. Yoga is Advocacy. Yoga is Allyship. Yoga is Learning and Unlearning.
My favourite classes are niche yoga sessions centered around the Black Experience.
I co-chaired Yoga.Unity for a few years; and also co-founded the BIPoC Yogis of Ottawa project
Love is Love is Love.
I live in Rockland, ON, with my husband and my 3 cats: Missy, Shuri and Simba.
I am a Proud Geriatric Millennial with a desk job and a sweet-tooth.
My favourite hobbies are watching animes, reading mangas/manhwas, hanging out with loved ones, and napping with my fur babies!
